Japan Shiga BESS (大津市石山千町)

The Shiga Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, located in Ishiyama-Senchō, Ōtsu City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, is a large-scale energy initiative exclusively developed and constructed by Sunpin Japan. With a planned storage capacity of 220,000 kWh, the project is set to play a key role in supporting grid stability and advancing renewable energy integration in the region. Commercial operation is expected to be in 2027, marking a significant milestone in Shiga’s transition toward a more sustainable energy future.
