S-Line Transmission Line Upgrade

Sunpin Solar and the Imperial Irrigation District (IID) have broken ground on a major upgrade to IID’s 230 kV S-Line transmission line—a vital 18-mile corridor connecting the Imperial Valley and El Centro Substations. The project will replace 293 aging wood poles with 184 steel poles, enhancing grid reliability and increasing transmission capacity to support the integration of new energy projects like Sunpin’s. Sunpin’s participation highlights its ongoing commitment to advancing renewable energy development in the region, aligning with the project’s broader goal of strengthening Southern California’s power infrastructure and delivering long-term benefits to the local community.
