Project Information

Vega 2 is a large-scale solar and storage development totaling 344.4 MWdc of solar PV and 190 MWac of battery storage capacity. Located east of Niland, CA, in Imperial County, the project is positioned to be one of the region’s most significant clean energy assets. Vega 2 has secured interconnection rights with the Imperial Irrigation District (IID). The project benefits from ITC and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) incentives and is supported by long-term revenue contracts. Sunpin Energy is leading development, with a commercial operation target of Q1 2026.

Power Purchase Agreement (PPA): 15-year agreement covering energy and RECs
Grid Access: 230kV generator intertie to IID's KN&KS line via Flowing Wells Switching Station
Permits: CUP approved; interconnection and site control secured
Equipment: All components sourced from Tier 1 suppliers
